This Sunday, March 8, at 4pm, Canterbury Choral Society, an amateur chorus based on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. will be presenting a concert of music by Ralph Vaughan Williams, an English composer who served as an ambulance driver during WWI. Some of the music on their program was written after -- and very much influenced by -- the composer's war experiences, and the texts incorporate poetry by Walt Whitman (who of course was involved in nursing work during the Civil War), as well as other texts.

Canterbury Choral Society, would like to extend an invitation to those veterans or active servicemen/women in the city to attend their concert, at no charge. All they would need to do is to show their military ID to the house manager at the door.
