Brooklyn, NY. (July 8, 2021) – Edward F. Lukoski Post No. 7096 has been award this prestigious status. Not only did we meet the National requirements we surpassed them.
The All-State Program is the Department Commander's program designed to recognize the best Districts, Councils and Posts from across the state. VFW Department of NY Inspector Jim Haas stated "This was a tuff year however Post 7096 along with the 13 other Posts selected were outstanding!"
Post 7096 Commander along with his family placed flags at the graves, of veterans resting in Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, NY. Over 8,500 Veterans are buried in Woodlawn and the weather didn't stop them from honoring the fallen.

Our very own Quartermaster received an award in recognition of his service in the military and continued service to the Veterans of NYC
Our very own QM has been recognized by our National Commander for his efforts in recruitment as well as retention for our Post. Because of Don's efforts we are at a membership level not ever seen in years, 113.84%. We have received National Recognition and State Recognition is soon to come for our membership levels. Great job Don keep up the good work!
In February of 2021 our National Commander challenged all Posts in recruitment, and 7096 stepped up and led the way in our Division.
We received a Certificate of Recognition from the National Commander for our commitment to Veterans & Military Support Programs
Master Sergeant Rodriguez,USAF is a Life Member of Post #7096 and is the Uncle of our Post Commander Rodriguez and the Son of PFC Ismael Rodriguez of Post #7096(who is also the Grandfather of Commander Rodriguez.) In this interview he discusses the 65th Infantry which was segregated at the time of the Korean War an all Puerto Rican Unit Lead by White Officers.
We received an award from the National Commander of the VFW along with a Streamer for our colors.
On October 18th 2019 we were on Ft. Hamilton Army Base. During the Federal Bureau of Prisons Bureau Battle Buddy Program (B3). Our goal was to inform B3 participants on the VFW Mental Wellness Campaign that is available to all Veterans. The VFW Mental Wellness Campaign is very much related to the B3 programs mission. We felt that these 2 programs together would help to reach out to those in need.
SAVE THE DATE!!! 4.5-mile Ruck march beginning at the Fort Hamilton Cannon along Shore Road Park to the American Veterans’ Memorial Pier. The return route will be along the Shore Road Promenade with beautiful views of the Verazano Bridge & surrounding areas back to the original starting point. Uniform of the day: “Boots & Utes” & “Ruck Packs” (or equivalent BDU's & T-shirt type clothing) “NO SILKIES AND NO ALCOHOL” Join us afterwards for comradery & drinks at Post 7096
